C-JAM is a fresh musical concept involving four of the most talented Estonian cellists who are currently breaking musical boundaries in their native country, bringing new life to musical entertainment by incorporating catchy musical soundscapes into their unique style of performance. These four cellists blend well-integrated musical taste with sophisticated stage appearance producing a result that is both pleasing to the eye and pleasant on the ear. To put it more accurately, the result is a blend of classical cello quartet with improvisatory big-band, occasional metallic rock sounds and, of course, soft strains of the warm cello sound.

With a repertoire consisting of traditional mixed styles and musical periods-including Händel, Brahms, Wagner, Lloyd-Webber, Johann Strauss, Lennon/McCartney, the listener will be pleasantly surprised to find C-Jam’s repertoire including such all-time rock favourites as Bon Jovi, Status Quo, Procol Harum, Queen and ELO just to mention a few.
Mikk Kaasik is a highly gifted fifteen-year-old, living in the Tartu County, Estonia. He has been active as a singer and songwriter since his early childhood, appeared as a soloist and with ensembles in various venues. Mikk has participated and won prizes at a number of national and international song contests. His acting abilities have garnered him Grand Prix at the National Festival of Musical Theatre for Children and Youth in Tallinn. Shortly thereafter he was invited to perform roles in theatre productions, film and television. He has also completed piano studies at the Heino Eller Tartu Music College.

Mikk Kaasik and C-Jam will present their new program specially prepared for the International Klaipėda Cello Festival. Songs are from the repertoire of the bands Apelsin, Muse, Judas Priest, U2, Queen and others, and from Mikk Kaasik himself.
