Denis Severin is a professor of cello at the Geneva-Neuchâtel University of Music and the Bern University of Arts. He is a winner of ECHO KLASSIK Prize 2015, was nominated at the GRAMMY AWARDS in 2007, became a laureate at the International Classical Music Awards in 2018, is laureate of several international music competitions. He performs as a soloist and a chamber musician in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, collaborates with some of the most distinguished ensembles and musicians.
He is a frequent guest-artist at classical music festivals, jury member for a number of music competitions, artistic director of the ArtCello Festival and the Schlosskonzerte Beuggen (Germany) concert series, President of the Art Without Borders Basel association.
Denis Severin graduated from the Moscow State P. Tchaikovsky Conservatory (prof. D. Miller), and continued his studies at the Geneva University of Music (prof. D. Grossgurin), the Music Academy of Basel (prof. T.Demenga), the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris (prof. G. Hoffman), the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (prof. C. Coin).
