Klaipėda Old Market Place
Dance performance with live music
Choreographer Dovilė Binkauskaitė
Šeiko Dance Company (senior group)
Klaipėda Cello Quartet
Programme: Antonio Vivaldi Le quattro stagioni
This performance is a meeting of sensual cello music and dance of mature bodies. It will give you an opportunity to rise above the hustle and bustle of the market place and experience the poetry of everyday life.
During the performance, the cello quartet, led by the artistic director, cellist Mindaugas Bačkus, will perform a modern interpretation of Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The elemental piece of music will be interpreted in movement by a group of seniors from the Šeiko Dance Company, led by choreographer Dovilė Binkauskaitė, and the Old Market Hall florists will decorate the performance with flower blossoms. After all, the market is a place of meetings and communication, where the pulse of the city and its people can be felt. Seniors are often left on the margins of the city, so their involvement in artistic processes is of great importance for the creation of the city as a living organism. The creators of the performance in the market hall invite you to experience the human being as a poem and to sway to the rhymes of music and dance.
